Can you believe it's already December?? (Only two more weeks until the holiday break!)

In case you have not seen the event on Facebook, we're having a Winter Mixer on Friday, December 10, from 6:00-8:00, here at Mountain View. We'll have food, drinks, and music! And, of course, your UB friends!

We will also have a gift exchange on that day, for those who wish to participate. If you want to be a part of the gift exchange, just bring a gift between $5-10.

The best part of this event? NO UB T-SHIRT REQUIRED! In fact, no t-shirts, UB or others... dress up! This is a fancy party!

Can't wait to see you there!

Stipend News!

We received word yesterday that Higher One has your stipend information. You should receive a check in the next 7-10 days -- if you do not receive a check in 10 days, please contact us so we can help you figure out where your money is.

Your check will be mailed to the address you have on file with Higher One. If you have moved since the last time you logged in to Higher One, your check will be mailed to the wrong address! You must contact Higher One as soon as possible to give them your correct address.

For those of you who started this summer, or those of you who've lost your login info, on Saturday, October 9th, we will have a workshop to help you log on to your Higher One account. You will need to update your address and other contact info, and select whether you want to receive the money on your card or if you want to receive a check.

We strongly recommend you DO NOT choose the card, that you request to receive a check -- each time you use the Higher One card, you are charged two dollars for the transaction (they take an extra two dollars out of your account every time you want to use your money. If you swipe your card to buy a Coke for $1.49, you pay $3.49 for that Coke).

If you need to reset your password or have forgotten your login info, please call the UB office to let us know (214-860-3628). Please help us spread the word to other MVC UB students!

Tutoring starts this week!

It was great seeing you all at Orientation Saturday! Our academic year has officially started -- which means you need to start logging your tutoring hours.

For those of you who attend Kimball, SOC, Molina, or GPHS, check the slideshow below to find out the days and rooms for tutoring. Those of you who attend other schools, you need to get tutoring from your classroom teachers and document your hours with the Outside Tutoring Form (which you can download and print here).

(We will have tutors at A. Maceo, South GP, and Dubiski, but we'll let you know when those tutoring sessions will begin. For now, please use the Outside Tutoring Form.)

If you were not able to join us last Friday for the BODIES exhibit, please stop by the MVC UB office (W120) to pick up your school supply goody-bag! We have lots of stuff to give to you guys, and we want you to have it! (If you ask nicely, we may even be able to deliver it to you... call and see!)
Now, go relax, play on Facebook, watch some TV... but make sure you get to bed early tonight, because tomorrow you have to be ready for Day 2!
